Jumbaya launches animated storybook to retell 'Ramayana'
Jumbaya, a children's storybook platform, is all set to retell Ramayana in an animated read-along storybook format titled “Ramayana: The Journey of Sita and Rama” designed for children aged 6-14 years. Through this initiative, Jumbaya aims to integrate technology with tradition to inspire a sense of wonder in young hearts about their rich cultural heritage.

“In today's world filled with endless online distractions and mindless scrolling, Jumbaya faces a tough challenge: getting kids interested in epics like Ramayana. But they've risen to the occasion. With careful research and expert guidance, Jumbaya has broken the narrative into short, 6-10 minute storybooks, each crafted to include illustrations in a minimally animated format, captivating music, facts, and trivia, and even chanting Sanskrit 'Shlokas' from the original Valmiki texts, in the background,” it said.

Jumbaya said it firmly believes in the power of reading and aims to cultivate this habit during children's formative years. To achieve this, they use SLS (Same language Subtitling), which displays spoken words as text on the screen, synchronized with audio. This approach helps children connect sounds with letters, enhancing their vocabulary and engaging their visual and auditory senses.

The Ramayana believed to have been composed by Maharishi Valmiki around the 5th century BCE, serves as a narrative teaching the life of Lord Rama, the prince of Ayodhya, to his sons Lav and Kush.
