About this campaign

Kian Musgrove is four years old and from Newcastle in Northern England. He is currently bravely fighting a very aggressive cancer called Neuroblastoma which he was first diagnosed with at 18 months old. At that age he had 27 tumors in his bones, bone marrow, lymph nodes and a large one in his adrenal glad (above his kidney). After being treated with chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy and also operations to remove the large tumor and transplant bone marrow, he beat the disease the first time around.

Unfortunately, the cancer returned about nine months later so he is fighting this horrible disease for a second time. Only some of the relapse treatment is available in the UK, so it has been necessary for Kian to come to New York for treatment at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. This treatment is extremely expensive, as are the regular round trips Kian and his family have to make back to the UK, so there is an urgent need to raise funds to help with his battle.

Toon Army NYC are a New York-based Supporters Club of English Football Team, Newcastle United, the team of Kian's hometown and who he also enthusiastically supports. Due to this link, and with many of their members having met Kian and his family several times during his time in New York, they wanted to make these shirts available to help aid his cause. With a wide membership base, the hope is that as many people (Newcastle United supporters or not) will purchase a shirt with the aim helping Kian beat Cancer once and for all.

100% of the proceeds will go towards Caring for Kian with the production costs being met by the following people/companies:

- Legends Bar, the home of The Football Factory, the number one place in NYC to watch Football, which can be found on West 33rd Street between 5th and 6th Avenues in Midtown Manhattan

- Jack Keane, the legendary owner and operator of The Football Factory

- Furniture Clinic, an online retailer of cleaning and restoration products for leather, fabric and wood, whose owner is a member of Toon Army NYC

Further information on Kian's cause can be found on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter by searching for "Caring for Kian."
