A classic mullet is a type of haircut that is characterized by shorter hair on the top and sides, while the hair at the back is left significantly longer.

'The current trend seems to be a little more "elegant," it has a rounder, more oval-shape around the face, which of course ends up longer at the nape of the neck,' says the stylist whose clients include Isabelle Huppert, Laëtitia Casta, Juliette Binoche and Emmanuelle Seignier, among others.

The cut can work on just about anyone of any age, gender or race, as it adapts to all hair types.

'Unlike other haircuts where hair texture and thickness can play an important role, with a mullet, you don’t need texture, which is exactly what makes it so interesting, whether you have curly, wavy, straight or anything else, the style is so versatile.
