The 20 or so huge mansions that grace Titlarks Hill Road are mostly set back from the highway with security gates and walls bristling with cameras.

Locals say Titlarks Hill is way out of the league of your common and garden British multi-millionaires and over the last five years foreign money has moved in.

At the end of the road is a resplendent palace of a property guarded by a gated driveway and high walls.

The new owners changed the name from Hills End to Zhong Yuan Place - an indicator of where the new money is coming from.

Once an enclave for old money, residents in Sunningdale say Titlarks Hill is now the preserve of the super rich looking for somewhere to invest their money.

They say many of the properties are permanently empty and treated as high-value investments or lived in only infrequently.

But with maintenance and grounds to keep up, they say several of the estates have a full-time staff with gardeners and housekeepers in situ.

Many also have security guards employed year-round to look after them.

One resident said: ‘There’s a lot of foreign money pouring into that area in recent years because it backs onto Sunningdale golf course.

'It’s a gorgeous location, it’s private and it’s exclusive and that all appeals to people with that type of money.’

The village of Sunningdale also boasts one of the most expensive garages in Britain which is currently offering a 2021 Koenigsegg Regera for a cool £3.25million, an Aston Martin Vulcan for £2.5million and a McLaren P1 GTR for £2.35million

However the exclusive road came perilously closer to being wiped out back in the summer of 2020 when a raging wildfire swept across nearby Chobham Common destroying 140 acres of heath-land.

Luckily firefighters managed to contain the blaze and the enclave was spared any damage.

Brian May, who had spent two days removing ‘precious things’ from his house as the fire bore down on his property, said it was ‘shocking and traumatic’ to watch and was enormously relieved when firefighters extinguished it.
