Pictures have emerged showing damaged seats in the away end housing Celtic fans at Fir Park.

It's not the first incident involving the sides at Fir Park with fans streaming onto the pitch during a September meeting between the two sides at the same venue. It was late drama that day with Luis Palma scoring in the 87th minute for the visitors before Blair Spittal levelled five minutes into added-time. Matt O'Riley then smashed home a dramatic winner two minutes later.

A statement issued by the club in November in the wake of the banning of the Green Brigade made clear their the club's strife over incidents in Lanarkshire earlier this season. It read: "The unsafe behaviour at Fir Park on 30 September, including rushing turnstiles and forcing open fire exits to permit access to individuals without tickets and pitch incursions."

The Hoops support travelled in their numbers for the Sunday lunchtime clash with Motherwell as they looked for their heroes to close the gap on rivals Rangers at the top of Scottish Premiership table back down to two points following their big win over Hearts at Ibrox on Saturday. But like previous weeks, the champions found themselves unable to get into the groove in the opening 45 minutes and ending up trailing by a Spittal goal at the half-time interval.

Brendan Rodgers turned to his bench and introduced Adam Idah in a change he later explained as tactical and the Norwich City loanee repaid the show of faith within five minutes as he executed a brilliant header beyond Liam Kelly after a brilliant crossed ball from full-back Greg Taylor. As the clocked ticked down it looked like it would be more dropped points by Celtic but Idah popped up with a stoppage time second from Alistair Johnston's low cross to spark wild scenes in the away end.

Palma then added a third to secure all three points in what could prove a vital win for the Parkhead outfit. However, one down point to the afternoon will be the images of damaged seats in the stands emerging with lots of them covered with a host of different stickers.
