Joseph Rodney “Rod” Cutcher, 67, of Fremont died Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Toledo Hospital. He was born October 10, 1949 in Fremont the only child of Joseph A. and Myrtle (Harger) Cutcher. Rod was a 1967 Ross High graduate, a graduate of Tiffin University and went on to work for the U.S. Postal Service. On June 7, 1974 he married Patricia Barbour.
Rod was a practical joker with a great sense of humor and quick wit. He loved all things sports, supporting his nieces and nephews from the sideline and watching the Buckeyes and Cleveland Indians. He was an animal lover who fed the squirrels on his daily walks, assisted injured birds to the animal sanctuary and found a place for any stray that crossed his path. Rod volunteered his time at the hospital.
Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Patricia Cutcher of Fremont, OH; in-laws: Paula Barbour of Waterford, MI; Margaret (George) Ward of Canton, MI; Rick (Kathy) Barbour of Fremont, OH; Bill(Sue) Barbour of Fremont, OH; Susie (Damon) Cerrone of Manassas, VA;numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Kelly, in-laws Sam and Esther Barbour, brother-in-law Ken Barbour and nieces Sara Barbour, Stephanie Bartley and Christine Ward.
Visitation will take place on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 2-8P.M. at Keller –Koch-Chudzinski Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, Ohio. Vigil services will begin Friday at 7:30P.M.
A Mass of Resurrection will begin at 10:30A.M. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Nicholas Weibl officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Sandusky County Humane Society or the Memorial Hospital Angel Fund
