Origin
The inferior laryngeal artery originates from the inferior thyroid artery as it ascends in the neck.
Course
The inferior laryngeal artery travels superiorly on the lateral margin of the trachea with the inferior laryngeal nerve, which is the terminal portion of the recurrent laryngeal nerve. The inferior laryngeal artery enters the larynx at the lower border of the inferior constrictor muscle.
Branches
There are no named branches of the inferior laryngeal artery;, however, it anastomoses with the contralateral artery and the ipsilateral superior laryngeal artery.
