Origin

The palmar carpal branch arises from the ulnar artery.

Course

The palmar carpal branch of the ulnar artery crosses the distal end of the ulna deep to the flexor digitorum profundus.

It anastomoses with the corresponding branch from the radial artery, deep to the long flexor tendons.

Branches

There are no named branches, but it contributes to the formation of the palmar carpal arch.

Supplied Structures

The palmar carpal arch supplies the anterior aspect of the wrist joint.
