Agave attenuata is a species of flowering plant in the family Asparagaceae, commonly known as the foxtail or lion's tail. The name swan's neck agave refers to its development of a curved inflorescence, unusual among agaves. Native to the plateaux of central west Mexico, as one of the unarmed agaves, it is popular as an ornamental plant in gardens in many other places with subtropical and warm climates.

Initially I was surprised as the pups didn't look like the photo, but LaLa was kind enough to include some extras, which I decided to give to friends. LaLa and I corresponded and she prepared me with what to expect and everything she said came true. Within 4 weeks every one of the pups took root and we were off and running. I take weekly photos just so I can see how much growth they've had and I'm very pleased. It won't be long before I have completely fleshed out agaves... I'm very pleased with this almost "parentlike" experience (though I've never been one)
