1947 1 Peseta Coin - Francisco Franco - Circulated - Spain
These are interesting collectible coins. They are made from aluminum bronze. Each coin has two dates; the date of government authorization appears on the front, under the portrait. The date of issue appears on the back, in two small stars. A magnifying glass is needed to be able to identify the date in the star. In uncirculated condition, these coins are worth upwards of $100.00. While circulated, this coin still retains a significant amount of detail.
The peseta was the currency of Spain between 1868 and 2002. Along with the French franc, it was also a de facto currency used in Andorra (which had no national currency with legal tender)
