You Can Order Taylor's Version of a Caramel Latte at Starbucks

Taylor Swift's signature drink is nothing new, but it does come in those red cups we know all too well.

Last week was a good week to be one of the biggest pop stars on the planet. Continuing what has been a massive trend of fast food chains partnering with platinum-selling musicians (like McDonald's and BTS or Popeyes and Megan Thee Stallion), three of the most popular artists yet joined the quick-service collaboration ranks: On Wednesday, Tim Horton's announced a partnership with fellow Canadian Justin Bieber while McDonald's revealed they had snagged the modern queen of Christmas songs, Mariah Carey.

Then, on Friday, Starbucks quietly made waves of its own, initially keeping the press out of the loop and breaking the news straight to social media: America's largest coffee chain had added Taylor Swift's favorite drink to the menu for the holidays.

Though this partnership didn't come with any major coordinated announcement from Starbucks, Taylor Swift fans already had a feeling something was up. Last Monday, the chain's official Twitter account posted that "It's Red Season," which was more than enough for Swifties to realize something was on the horizon. The simple tweet also hauled in a massive number of likes and retweets.

The timing of the partnership wasn't coincidental: Friday also saw the release of Swift's album, Red (Taylor's Version) — a newly-recorded reissue of her previously released fourth album, Red, which she rerecorded due to an ownership dispute over the original tracks. Meanwhile, when Starbucks rolls out new cups for the holidays, these winter months are called "red cup season" — and thus a sensible tie-in was born.

As for what this collaboration entails, Starbucks says that for a limited time only, fans can order Taylor's favorite Starbucks drink, a Grande Caramel Nonfat Latte, simply by asking for a "Taylor's Latte" or "Taylor's Version." Additionally, customers can send friends the gift of a Taylor's Latte (or any drink) with a new exclusive Taylor-inspired Starbucks e-gift card available on the 'Bux website.

Finally, Starbucks says they'll be putting plenty of Taylor Swift into their in-store playlists or you can listen to the Starbucks x Swift playlist at home on Spotify.
