When Is ‘All American’ Season 6 Coming To Netflix? Here’s What To Know

Following

All American returned last week for its sixth season on The CW. The first five seasons are currently available on streaming, so you might be wondering when All American Season 6 will be arriving on Netflix. Read on to learn everything to know.

All American is The CW’s popular drama series that debuted in October 2018. The show, which centers on the life and football journey of Spencer James (Daniel Ezra), is based on the real-life story of NFL linebacker and Super Bowl XLVI champion Spencer Paysinger. The streaming success of All American even led to the creation of a spinoff, All American: Homecoming, which is returning for a third season this summer.

Without revealing spoilers, last week’s Season 6 premiere picked up where last season left off. In the action-packed Season 5 finale, Spencer finally poured his heart out to Olivia before she boarded her plane to London, Jordan proposed to Layla, and Patience was stabbed by Miko — just as Coop was on her way to tell Patience that she had feelings for her.

“It’s the start of a new school year and Spencer and Jordan are officially eligible to enter the NFL draught, placing Spencer at the centre of the media spotlight; Olivia returns to Los Angeles after being changed by her time in London,” the logline for Season 6, Episode 1, reads. Samantha Logan, Michael Evans Behling, Greta Onieogou, Chelsea Tavares, Bre-Z, Cody Christian, Monét Mazur, and more also star.

When Is All American Season 6 Coming To Netflix?

All American falls under The CW’s former agreement with Netflix, which means the sixth season will likely drop on the streaming platform eight days after the season finale.

In 2016, The CW signed a deal with Netflix stipulating that its series would premiere on the streaming platform eight days following their respective season finales on live TV. CW Network President Mark Pedowitz called this strategy “the Netflix bump,” in which audiences discovered new shows like Riverdale and All American and boosted their ratings leading into the next season, according to AdWeek.

Although The CW decided not to renew the licensing agreement in 2019, some shows still fall under the former deal, including All American. Per The Hollywood Reporter, “Shows that premiered during the 2018-19 television season will also continue to stream on Netflix throughout their lifetime, and Netflix will continue to have the subscription streaming rights to current shows like Riverdale, The Flash and Dynasty.”

As a result of the now-resolved Hollywood strikes, the sixth season of All American only has 13 episodes in total (compared to 20 episodes in Season 5) — so it’s harder to estimate when the Season 6 finale will air. The CW has also not yet announced the full release schedule for Season 6.

But if you count 13 weeks from the April 1 premiere, that brings viewers to sometime around July 2024. The good news is that once All American Season 6 ends, fans won’t have to wait months for the show to land on streaming. Stay tuned to learn the exact date All American will arrive on Netflix.

All American airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW. Check out the teaser for Season 6, Episode 2, below.
