The God Rolls For Destiny 2’s Acosmic GSP Grenade Launcher In Festival Of The Lost

Following

Destiny 2 is back with another year of Festival of the Lost, which we stopped calling Festival of the Cost because well, all the events ended up costing a lot eventually, even if there were not more puns to be made.

This time around, the brand new event weapon is the Void Rapid Fire Frame Acosmic GSP Heavy Grenade Launcher. Most grenade launchers, with few exceptions, are far from the DPS meta they’ve been in the past, despite some buffs, but there are some rolls you may want to snag here all the same.

I am just going to go through all the perks in each column here and talk about which are good or pointless.

Column 1:

Enlightened Action – Doing damage increases reload speed and handling – I do not believe the buffs from this are nearly enough to pick this over another option for a heavy GL especially.

Impulse Amplifier – Massively increases projectile speed and reload speed – Pretty much a better version of the above. Not meta, but I really like it, especially fun when paired with a rapid fire GL.

Surplus – Increased handling, reload speed and stability for each fully charged ability – Pointless on this.

Loose Change – Applying an elemental debuff increases this weapon’s reload speed for a short period – This really needs to be paired with Destabilizing Rounds and it’s sort of a worse version of Enlighted Action, which is already not great.

Clown Cartridge – Reloading this weapon randomly overfills it from reserves – The classics! This is always a favorite on GLs and a top pick in this column

Field Prep – Increased ammo reserves, Faster reload, stow and ready speed when crouching – Another top pick for GLs, as lord knows the biggest buff they need, especially on rapid fire frames, is more reserves.

Quickdraw – Blegh come on

Column 2:

Repulsor Brace – Defeating a void-debuffed target grants an overshield. On normal weapons? Sure. On a heavy GL? No thanks.

Cascade Point – Final blows or precision hits with another weapon increase this weapon’s rate of fire – Oh yeah I’m going for this one with a rapid fire frame. I want to pair it with Impulse Amplifier to create a grenade storm.

Explosive Light – Picking up an orb of light increases the next projectile’s damage and blast radius – Another solid pick for GLs even after past nerfs, especially now in the Armor Charge economy.

Wellspring – Come on

Collective Action – Elemental pickups grant a period of stacking damage – Again, okay for normal weapons, won’t be able to use this well for DPS phases.

Destabilizing Rounds – Final Blows cause nearby targets to become volatile. This is just…a worse version of Chain Reaction unless you’re trying to trigger void 3.0 things specifically. And MGs are better for crowd clearing than GLs will ever me.

High Ground – Gain bonus damage when attack targets from higher ground – I think they just did this to make a prequel meme. Way too hard to actually use reliably.

My picks? Impulse/Cascade. Clown/Explosive Light. Field Prep/Cascade or Explosive Light. Good luck farming.
