Cuphea caeciliae is an upright, freely branching, spreading, evergreen shrub or subshrub with elliptic, dark green leaves up to 8cm long and 4cm across.
Its produces unusual and attractive tubular, red to orange coloured flowers that are and up to 4cm long and resemble a lit cigar, hence the name.
