The technique, created by Aveda's Global Creative Director, Antoinette Beenders, is all about a reversion to natural-looking hair and creating an imperfect texture by applying a simple twisting technique when cutting, to leave ends looking raw and undone.

When you team it wilth a chunky, sultry fringe and a length just skimming the shoulders (ala Freja) to give the shape a slightly weightier feel and left to air-dry - this new cut is versatile and suits almost every face shape.

"Natural hair is making a comeback, and I think we're ready for it, twisting sections before slide-cutting downward enhances the hair's natural texture and keeps it from looking overly polished," Antoinette said.

The best bit: This style is extremely low maintenance so great for those of you who love the gym, or anyone who prefers a style that looks a little less polished.
