Four seasons after beginning her cohosting stint on The Talk, Eve is walking away from the CBS daytime show.

This Monday, the 41-year-old rapper, whose full name is Eve Jihan Jeffers Cooper, announced her decision to leave The Talk at the end of 2020. While calling into the show from London, where she and her husband of six years, Maximillion Cooper, live part-time, Eve expressed gratitude for having the opportunity to cohost the show remotely the past few months.

"I’ve been so grateful that I’m able to stay here in London and do the show. But I can’t see, for me, the foreseeable future of traveling back at the moment, and have decided at the end of December, this will probably be my last time on the show in this capacity as a host," Eve shared.

She then went on to joke that she "wished she hated" one of her Talk cohosts — a.k.a. Sheryl Underwood, Sharon Osbourne or Carrie Ann Inaba — but because she doesn't, the decision to leave is "one of the hardest in the world."

"I have had the most beautiful experience," Eve gushed to her costars about her time on the show. "I’ve grown as a woman, as a person. I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again: I never thought that being on a talk show would be this much of an opening of my spirit, soul, personality, everything. Sitting onstage with all you women has been the best thing ever. I truly love you."

Why is Eve leaving The Talk at the end of 2020?

Eve's departure comes less than two months after Marie Osmond exited the daytime show after one season. Back then, unconfirmed rumors swirled that behind-the-scenes drama between Sharon, Marie and Sheryl led to Marie's "ousting," despite CBS citing Marie's other projects as the reason.

But by the sound of things, Eve is walking away from her cohosting gig sans any drama. Her reason for leaving? She wants to spend more time with her husband and focus on growing their family (Max has four children from a previous marriage).

Eve has spoken candidly about her and her husband's infertility struggles on The Talk. Back in May 2019, the award-winning artist got real about her feelings of inadequacy and shame over the pair's challenges.

"As a woman, you just think things happen naturally and I felt like I was damaged," Eve said. "I felt like I was broken. I felt like, 'Oh well, maybe I’m not good enough.'"

Despite their struggles, Eve told Sheryl that she and her husband are "working on it" again. In the meantime though, Eve will be savoring every Talk memory made until her departure at the end of the year — especially the ones made on her birthday episode next Tuesday.

"Oh yeah, that's right, I'm not leaving before my birthday!"Eve told her cohosts."I am not leaving yet."
