John Jockgrim had it made. He was young, educated athletic, white male, and an up and coming lawyer, in a prestigious law firm. he was an accepted member in 'the old boys club'. His dad was a loving father, and family man. He was the powerful, and arrogant head of the hospital's famous Brain Transplant Project. When his children arrived at the hospital from a car accident, Dr. Jockgrim decided he must act. His daughter was brain dead, and John was dying. He brushed aside all opposition, and ordered his team to put John's brain in his sister's body. John awoke from coma months later feeling weak and feeble. Not only that, much smaller, and female. John refused to deal with all the cultural issues that came along with being female, so she isolated herself from most people she knew. Instead concentrated on whipping her weak female body into shape with her tough male mind. John was quickly humbled. The pain and fatigue of her wasted, emaciated body endured in physical therapy, was far more difficult then trying to get the strong, healthy male body in shape for football season. When she left her self imposed isolation to return to the law firm, she found she is unwanted, and was forced to resign. With no job, and no goals, John decided she could not delay her transformation any longer. She changed her name to Joan, then tried to learn how to dress and act like a lady. Joan had to fight off sexist thoughts, that ridicule her efforts. Joan could have it all, a career, love, marriage, and children. If only she could learn not to be repulsed at the though of a guy caressing her body.

An interesting story of how John has his brain transplanted into his sister Cindy's body after a car crash. Their father was the head of a brain transplant programme and was desperate to save something from his children. It took a while for John to come to terms with being a woman. The story revolved not only about the new Joan's adaptation to who she now was, but also the legal case where her father lost his position and was sued by the family of a woman who might have had Cindy's body instead of John.

I would probably have given this story a five, as it was very readable, but there were just so many small spelling errors that acted as a distraction.
