Life without love is conventional for Sosa Law, a prominent figure and primal source for the city’s drug supply. The lack of attachments to anything other than the money that he liked to spend, unapologetically, assisted him in reaching his pinnacle. Women were a commodity that he frequently indulged in, but he never stayed too long or afforded them with too much attention.
With an empire under his fingertips, his money and time are valued more than any aspect of his hectic life. The lone night, the one that fate leads him to the shared location with lowered lids and an elevated state due to the influence of marijuana, begins to decompose his perspective on the forbidden emotion.
Gauge Morrison is simply looking for her forever, impatiently waiting for Mr. Right to show face. She’s gotten his occupation, demeanor, and beliefs figured out in that pretty little head of hers, yet she never expected her knight to wear red religiously, find comfort in his lonesome, avoid attachment, run a lucrative drug empire, tote a gun or two, or be one willing to risk anything for both his freedom and paper. She hadn’t imagined him being so lawless. She hadn’t fathomed he’d be Sosa Law.
Happiness is accompanied by pain, and joy is the next of kin to sorrow. The venture to acquiring love for Sosa and Gauge is unmatched, undeniable, and unlawful. Gauge is forced to accommodate Sosa’s ruthlessness, as it begins to affect her personal life, while Sosa questions her loyalty and everything they are trying to obtain.
Sosa!!!! I loved everything about this book, but that Sosa was really in a category of his own. He was everything and more. Now onto part two because that ending left me speechless.
I so hate that ending. Sosa went from a no nonsense guy too falling head over heels in love with Gauge. They were meant for each other. I lnew it was something with her mom. I hope they find their way back to each other. This book was full of emotions. I absolutely loved it. Team Sosa and Gauge!!!!
I'm definitely waiting for part 2 because I didn't want to put it down. One would've never imagined Gauge and Sosa meeting and encountering the way they did. They both had to adjust to what the other had going on but I loved it nonetheless. Sosa tried fighting his feelings for as long as he could but I was glad his heart won the battle. I felt a little bad for Brielle because she wasn't cut out for the dealings of the street other than reaping the benefits that came along with it. Cayman should've known better and it's crazy that everyone realized the one he was so crazy about didn't feel the same about him, but only what he could provide. Sosa was paranoid and seriously tripping. He should've held a conversation with Gauge before reacting the way he did and questioning her motives. That ending only made me not like Destiny even more and her selfishness caused Gauge more pain yet again! I won't be surprise if Gauge gives Destiny the boot once she realizes the role she played.
I love Sosa and Mili, their relationship is a beautiful one. However, I'm not sure how things will go from the point. Destiny needs to know that she just wedged herself between Mili and the love of her life and that will further the negative feelings Mili has towards her. Any possibility of having a relationship in the future just went out the door the moment her and her team went after Sosa. I felt extremely bad for Cayman his demise simply stemmed from caring too much about the wrong person. And Brielle was just a casualty of war. So looking forward to the next installment.
This was so good from the way they met, up until the day they fell in love. It's hard to believe what Sosa bestfriend/right hand man was about to do to ruin his life. I understand Cayman was in his feelings about Brielle but he also should have taken responsibility for his part he played because he had no business involving her in the first place. I already couldn't stand Gauge momma but what she's doing now I really can't stand her. I wonder what Sosa is about to do since he know that Gauge is carrying his baby. With that being said I just know part 2 is going to be good. Good read Mercy
This book was so good from beginning to the very end and what a ending. So loving Sosa and Gauge, she couldn't resist Sosa. He's rude, ruthless, expects loyalty from those he lets get close to him. This book had just enough drama, action and suspense that made it interesting and intriguing. I know Gauge mother was up to something when she reappeared all of a sudden. After that ending I can't wait to see what happens next. Job well done Mercy B.
That was a good book and I can't wait to read the next to see what the outcome will be with mili and sosa since he knows she pregnant now. Her mom prolly used her to lead to him but she didn't know about it. She should have talked to her mom that's prolly what she wanted to let her know before she got to heavenly involved with him. The heart wants what the heart wants no matter the cost. Thanks for this gift
Good read and that ending was a jaw dropper. I always wondered why her father always said when she's ready to talk to her mom he had her number but this is only going to draw them farther apart because mom has destroyed her happiness again. Loved the relationship between G and Sosa and the friendship between G, Sauni, and Brielle but I think if she ever finds out that Sosa is why her friend is dead that will destroy their relationship. Great job Mercy B.can't wait for part 2.
This book was so good...I loved it from the very beginning...I loved Sosa and Gauge relationship...I couldn’t imagine finding love by accident....This book had just enough drama for me...I can’t believe that mother of Gauge...I can’t wait to read part 2...You did the darn thing with this book Mercy B...
Yes come through! Mercy B is back with a vengeance! And she ain’t taking no names! This book here was phenomenal! It has you on the edge of your seat holding your breath. All the way to the jaw dropping end. I couldn’t get enough of Sosa & G! They’re right up there with Rahmeek & Bella for me! Can’t wait for part 2
Mercy, you have gotten my emotions all over the place! Where in the heck in book two? Sosa and Mili got together due to a simple mistake, but they rocked each other’s world. Mili’s mom makes me sick and she will eventually get hers. I hate what happened to their friends, but you do what you have to do for survival! Great book!!!
This ended no has me beyond confused. I released a breath I didn’t know I was holding. I couldn’t even come up for air until 74%....but that’s when my confusion started. The scene after graduation and the trip to the mall had be crying like a baby. Sosa was in a very dark place almost the whole book. This should’ve been a standalone.
This book was everything I couldn’t put it down I was at work and everything reading this book I’m so mad I finished it in one day but I couldn’t help it ugh I can’t wait for part two her mother a a real peace of work I can’t stand her at all I hope they work everything out I love them together sos was everything and more
I purposely waited to read the book because you can't just read 1 of Mercy's books & be satisfied. I tried to wait until Thursday for the release of part 2 on Friday but I couldn't wait any longer! Now I'm sitting here wondering if we can just skip Thursday & go straight to Friday LOL!
This book was banging. Sosa and Gauge were cute together. I like how you saw their relationship develop. It was good to see a strong female and a man that didn't cheat. That Andy has me in my feelings but I can't wait for part two.
I love Sosa and Gauges love, I didn’t expect such a plot and turn of events. Sosa doesn’t leave anything to chance not even love. I will definitely be reading part two. This a first read for me by this author and it won’t be my last.
Book is bomb . Ion know how to feel about dude though i can’t trust him no matter how sweet and handsome he is . He will hurt anybody he feel like . I can’t wait til part two though .
I loved this book I haven’t left a review in a while but I knew I had to with this one. You always come through rather it’s romance or urban you the real MVP can’t wait until part 2
I need Sosa to realize that love is a wonderful feeling and I am glad he finally let Gauge in! But because they moved so fast, they missed the important facts about each other which may cost them their love story!
I tried to not read this book for as long as I could but I’m beyond happy I read it. That ending has my heart hurting something serious! Please tell me part 2 is coming like now? I need it!!!
I love me some Sosa. I just hate how paranoid he is. I love Gauge and Sauni. I feel sorry for Brielle and Sosa's right hand. I hope everything turns out ok. Oh, I don't like Gauge momma.
It's funny how Sosa and Gauge met. I was sad that Brielle had to go out like that. Cayman supposed to be Sosa not why he wanna come it out like that. That ending though. I can't believe it. Hurry up with pt 2.
Man I really enjoyed this book although I enjoy all Mercy B books. That sneak peak of part 2 got me wanting more ASAP. I hope Gauge gets her man and works everything out.
I enjoyed the character development, but I felt that something was lacking or because of the constant flashbacks it almost sounded repetitive. I'm interested to see how this storyline will unfold with such a crazy ending.
HE WAS THE TRUE DEFINITION OF THAT NIGGA... LORD I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT HIS CHARACTER. POOR MILLI SHE WAS SO LOST BUT SOSA PROTECTED HER FOR GOOD REASON. MERCY B ANOTHER GREAT ONE
I love how they met and didn't go by any rules but their own. It pulled me in from the beginning and didn't let go. I'm headed straight to part two and need to be in the bed for work in the morning lol great job Mercy!
Wow, with so many loses I feel for Sosa but this time he has it all wrong. Gauge has a lot of questions for her mother now and how will all of this play out, she’s already lost one of her best friends and now the love of her life.....
This was a good read! Mercy be always bring the heat and have you in your feelings some kind of way. I loved me some Sosa and the author didn't disappoint with this storyline
