My father’s trap failed, but I’m no closer to freedom than when he declared me sacrifice. Now, thanks to the seraphim blood running through my veins, I’m bonded to Malachi, Rylan, and Wolf.

Our connection forces us into intimacy that none of us want, but the price of resisting will cost us our very lives. There’s only one path out of this. I have to get pregnant so I can become my father’s heir, and kill him before he assassinates me.

I need time. Time to figure out things with my men. Time to come up with a better plan. Just flat out time.

I’ve spent my entire life avoiding confrontation and running instead of fighting.

Running isn’t an option this time.

Now, I’m prepared to go to war to survive.

Heir is the second book in the Bloodline Vampires trilogy, and should be read following Sacrifice.

CW: Dubious consent, blood play, breeding, abusive parent (father), cliffhanger

I really enjoyed the first book, so I was excited too see what would happen next with the characters. Unfortunately, this one solely focused on the relationship and not necessarily the plot. While the characters got closer to one another and you got to know more about them, the plot didn't really develop until the very end of the book (with another cliffhanger). I am interested in reading the third book, I just hope it has more plot than this book did!

It’s hard to consider this a RH since one guy hates her and she’s far closer to one than the other two. Perhaps by the end of this that will no longer be true. Hopefully.

I’m sorry I keep comparing this trilogy to other books but the fact that she needs an heir to take down her father is so much like The Merry Gentry series by Laurel K Hamilton. Which incidentally was a RH before RH was a thing.

Definitely more interesting things happening in this one considering Mina is not just a useless damphir anymore. Plus the four aren’t just a RH, now they’re bonded and stuck together until death.

Thankfully that eventually brought everyone to the same page. While I’m not totally complaining there was a lot of sex, like 75% of this was straight sex.

So, you can imagine there was very little storyline but that cliffhanger. Damn I would’ve rather endured the cliffhanger from book one than this one. Now one source said it comes out in August and another said December. Please let it be August because WTF?!

This reverse-harem vampire romance series is proving to be some seriously raunchy fun.

Still fairly porny by nature—you won’t hear me complaining—this second novella in the Bloodline Vampires trilogy made me care just that little bit more than I did after finishing book one (Sacrifice).

There was a little bit more plot, a little bit more character development, a little bit more relationship development—which is a tricky thing when four characters are involved.

But, still, a bit more story development in all areas has definitely proved to be a good thing here. I enjoyed myself the first time around, intrigued and entertained enough to come back for book two, but now I’m downright invested.

I care about Mina and her three hunky vampire lovers. Their forced bond is now not-so-forced and I’m loving the dynamics that came out to play here because of their magical connection.

I’m especially loving the M/M elements that are hot and heavy throughout between these ancient vampires—a sexual history that is complex and varied, well preceding Mina’s very existence.

As expected, after the brief but memorable introduction in book one, broody Rylan remains my favourite of the bunch. The entire book is full of steamy erotic moments between two or more of the characters, but Rylan’s scenes with Mina in the first half of the story were smokin’ hot, their chemistry palpable. I enjoy the whole group dynamic and the individual dynamics within that, but, yep, Rylan is definitely where it’s at for me.

This story ends on a fairly worrisome cliffhanger, but I have no doubt arses will be kicked, hearts will be claimed and bedsheets will continue to catch ablaze in the final instalment (Queen).

Love where this story is going. So glad it went back to being a trilogy because I need MORE of this.

This crazy mix of characters has me very happy after a really shitty day.

Me: I'm in it for the plot!
Katee Robert: Plot you say? None of that!

That's basically what this book was, no plot, just relationship building and smut. I don't know if I want to continue with the last book just to finish it, or if I should save myself the trouble.

The smut is still A+ but I think the plot and character development were a big improvement from book 1. Because things were established in the first installment I didn’t feel like I had to wait for half the story to have things about the world explained or to start caring about the characters.

I really enjoyed this second installment. It ends on more of a cliffhanger than the first one did. Of course, I can’t wait for the third and final installment.

Don't ask why I read what I read. IDEK why I bore with it for as long as I did, okay?

This is the literal definition of "fuck-fest" and that's all you need to know.

This is the 2nd book/novella for Katee Robert’s mmmf vampire/paranormal romance. I enjoyed the first one but this second installment didn’t really work for me. I felt like this one was missing some of the emotional connection with the characters, it is filled with tons of sex but not a lot of connection between the characters. Which I wanted a better balance of the sexy times, emotional connection or the characters, and the plot. But really the plot of the story doesn’t pick up until the very end and then ends on a cliffhanger again like the first book. Which of course then the cliffhanger grabbed my attention and will have me reading the next installment since I do need to know how these characters/story ends. 🤣🤷🏼‍♀️

We continue the trilogy with the group on the run from Mina’s father. They’re exploring the new seraphim bond between them while they all deal with the newfound confinement in some way. Some good, others bad, while also trying for a baby. It’s Mina’s only hope to usurp her father from his throne. I, for one, am here for it!

I was also here for Rylan’s come to Jesus moment with the group and it was great! I’m not really here for Mina’s continued hesitation, at this point girl, pull on your big girl panties and deal with the fact that three hot dudes want you and you want them. It’s ridiculous at this point to still be hung up on your precious freedom. Be free together.

Anywho, that one left on a big, fat cliffhanger, so I’m cutting this review short to cannonball into the finale.

A whole lot of 🌶🌶🌶 with a tiny bit of plot lol

It also ends with a cliffhanger so, heads up!

P.S. I frkn love when Katee Robert connects her series together 🥰 It's so fun picking up the subtle (and not so subtle) details.

HEIR continues Mina’s story as she tries to stay in hiding from her abusive and controlling father. Each of her men -- Malachi, Wolf, and Rylan -- are doing everything they can to keep her safe because if she falls into her father’s hands then he’ll be able to control all of them through the bond they formed at the end of the last book. HEIR definitely has a “middle story” feel because while it does bring some changes to Mina and Rylan’s relationship, it ultimately doesn’t bring us any answers. I did like that Mina and Rylan began to see the good in each other and that Malachi and Wolf were able to start healing the rift they had with Rylan from many years before.

While I did find HEIR to be incredibly sexy in Katee Robert’s trademark way, it almost felt like there was, dare I say, too much sex. Really it was the fact that every conversation Mina has with one or more of the guys ends in them having sex and and something about that set up took away the seriousness of those conversations. Of course they are trying to get Mina pregnant and they’re on a time limit so it makes sense they’d be having lots of sex. So overall, a very minor complaint and I’m still really excited to read the conclusion to the series when it comes out.

Content Warning: Mina’s father was abusive; frequent discussion of getting Mina pregnant; book ends in a cliffhanger; dubious content (Mina and Rylan are attracted to each other but don’t particularly like each other but their seraphim/vampire bond forces them into having sex together)

I really enjoy how Katee Robert is an exception to the rule for me. I rarely read breeder books because that is the opposite of my jam. But I gobbled this book down! The plot is basically them banging and being on the run for Mina’s life. Super hot in a bloody bananas way. It ends on quite the cliffhanger and I cannot wait to see what happens next to our intrepid lovers. Especially Wolf. He’s so feral and delicious and I never know what I’m going to get when he’s on page.

Character notes: Mina is 24 and part vampire, part seraph. Malachi (fire), Wolf (blood), and Rylan (air) are all bisexual Bloodline vampires. Rylan is much older than Malachi and Wolf and they’ve all probably been around for a century or two. They’re all white.

Content notes: on-page sex, dubious consent, breeding , blood play, abusive father, Malachi has scars all over his body, ableist language

Disclosure: I am friendly with the author online.

3.5/5

• was this better than sacrifice or do I just have a thing for silent damaged muscle men in reverse harems (lookin at u rylan)
• this had more by way of plot but also got very repetitive with the whole sex then almost get caught then run to a new safe house formula
• still more smut than plot which is fine
• these books could just be one standalone book realistically

TWs: dubious consent, blood play, abusive parent, breeding, child abuse (past, mentioned), pregnancy, scarring

Wowza that ending was freaking crazy. I truly am loving these 4 so so much, this was them working through their relationship troubles. Rylan becomes such a lovable character. Wolf and Malachi are so fucking hot and just ugh I cant wait for book 3!!

Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Spicy content 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶/5
Spice quality 🔥🔥🔥🔥/5

This is just pure spice with a sprinkle of plot in it.
The spice is okay, but it gets very repetitive very quickly.

I get that they are vampires and whatnot, but there isn't that many hours in the day to be just in the bedroom. Especially since they are being chased like you would think there would be a lot more planning.

The plot, however, has me intrigued and is a very good plot. It just gets overshadowed by how much spice there is.

Honestly, I only really like Malachi.

You would think for an author who writes multiple poly books she would be good at writing development in the relationship and would at least make it believable for Mina to love all the men. However, none of that happened. Malachi is the only really fleshed-out character and the only one where you can see him with all of them and it makes sense. Mina on the other hand...yikes.

Mina literally has no relationship with Wolf or Rylan and they don't have one with her. Like this was my same problem with the first book and you think Robert would have spent the second book developing their relationship with each other but she didn't. Compared to other Robert books I've read, I didn't hate it but also I didn't like it.

If you are going to write a reverse harem story at least put effort into creating the relationships.

TW: dubious consent, blood play, breeding, physically and emotionally abusive parent (father), child abuse (past), pregnancy, blood, vomiting, kidnapping, implied torture

Rep: polyam mmmf, bi+ MCs
Tropes: hate sex
Nicknames: little dhampir, love

Rereading the first two so I can read Queen and then read The Dragon's Bride because they're apparently set in the same world or something. And I *really* want to read The Dragon's Bride now that it's on Kindle Unlimited.

Seems I disagree with the majority because this one is my favorite so far. Idk I liked the forced proximity of it all & that they each built relationships with each other in this one. The spice was always ramped up & we know I love that. I can’t wait to see how this all plays out

Good follow-up. This one was even more of an erotica story than book one. There is still a plot thread running through it but a lot of the action happens off page and a lot more of this is just dedicated to sex. This is fine and something I enjoy reading every once in a while, especially when paired with writing I enjoy, like with Robert, though personally I enjoy having a bit more plot in the mix. This is a short book so I understand why there wasn't more on-page plot but I still missed it. I enjoyed seeing how all the characters furthered their relationships in this book. I do think there was some interesting growth there and I liked that. Nothing was unexpected but it was still done well. There is a bit of a cliff hanger at the end. I'm interested in reading book three when it comes out, though I did read these on kindle unlimited and I'd want to do that with book three as well because I just can't justify to myself buying such a short book at the full price because I really never buy books that aren't on sale. This has been a fun romance series and I would encourage those that are interested to read these while they're available on KU.
