Shapinsay is a charming island at the heart of Orkney with a fascinating history, culture, and an abundance of nature and wildlife. I have a special affinity for the island- my family have lived and farmed here since the 1700s- and I would be delighted to share my passion and love for this special place with guests. Combining knowledge, anecdotes, and family stories you will be provided with a unique and personal tour, to create a compelling picture of island life today and through the centuries.

Our Shapinsay tour takes the ferry journey from Kirkwall to Shapinsay. We will focus on Balfour Village in the morning before heading into the island to visit the main sites.
