Amphotericin B (also referred as Fungizoneâ„¢) is an antimycotic agent which is effective against fungi and yeasts. Amphotericin B binds with ergosterol and interferes with the cell membrane permeability of sensitive fungi and yeasts. The channels in the cell membrane cause leakage of cytoplasmic content leading to fungal death.
