The need for trained diagnostic professionals is growing at a fast rate. Electrophysiology technologists and former graduates of accredited cardiovascular technologist programs who are interested in becoming more competitive in the workforce can now prepare for the Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) exam at Howard Community College.
Cardiac Electrophysiology Technologist Training at HCC
This introductory course in cardiac electrophysiology (EP) is designed to introduce the learner to electrophysiology principles, equipment, and diagnostic/therapeutic procedures performed in the clinical setting. This course is offered in partnership with HCC’s credit Health Sciences Division.
To earn a Certificate of Completion, you must complete the online classwork hours (one semester).
Cardiac EP Certificate Coursework
The Cardiac EP Program’s course offerings are structured as a one day a week online course using Zoom.
Course Format
This is an online, asynchronous program, with a weekly synchronous component that is offered throughout the year at varying days and times to accommodate work scheduling and geographic locations, but will typically run in evenings for 15 weeks. Prior to each class’ synchronous component, asynchronous material such as readings, homework, and or lab assignments are given for students to complete.
