Description 6

CAP 2 to 6 inches broad, convex, slightly viscid but soon becoming dry, dark smoky olive brown or blackish olive, often with darker and lighter streaks; flesh thick, white. ODOR and TASTE mild. GILLS adnate to decurrent, may be tinged gray in age. STEM about as long as cap width, up to 1 inch thick, same color as cap or paler. MICROSTRUCTURES spores 7-9 x 4-5 microns; DV.
