Promenade beach, Paradise beach, Serenity beach and Auro beach are only few of the many pristine beaches in Pondicherry. The crystal clear waters and the white sand will leave you awestruck. Beaches in Pondicherry are clean and less crowded, so one can get the much needed solitude here!

2. Explore spirituality at Sri Aurobindo Ashram

Sri Aurobindo Ashram is a spiritual community located in Pondicherry. According to Sri Aurobindi, “The Ashram has been created with another object than that ordinarily common to such institutions, not for the renunciation of the world but as a centre and a field of practice for the evolution of another kind and form of life which would in the final end be moved by a higher spiritual consciousness and embody a greater life of the spirit.”

3. Unique and absorbing Auroville International City

Auroville is a township near Pondicherry. Though it is located in Viluppuram district of Tamil Nadu, it is close to Pondi and easily accessible too. It was founded in 1968 by Mirra Alfassa (also known as “The Mother”) and designed by architect Roger Anger. Mother’s first message about this city was, “Auroville is meant to be a universal town where men and women of all countries are able to live in peace and progressive harmony, above all creeds, all politics and all nationalities. The purpose of Auroville is to realize human unity.” In the middle of the town is Matrimandir, known for its outstanding architecture. One must visit Auroville to understand and experience what it really is.

4. Delicious delicacies

French-food

In Pondi, one can enjoy South Indian cuisine as well as yummy French food. French food is available in the French quarters of the town. Seafood too is lip-smackingly delicious! I can’t help but add, it is a foodie’s paradise!

5. To pacify the adrenalin junkie inside you

Scuba-diving

One can learn scuba diving and scuba jumping in Pondi. For non-divers and swimmers, the 1-day experience is available. One can opt for PADI courses too, in which one is offered training for about 4 days.
