Showery Tor is a granite outcrop on a ridge which it shares with Rough Tor and Little Rough Tor.
Its prominent rock formation, 16 ft (5 metres) in height is a landmark for miles around. The natural stone outcrop is surrounded by a massive man-made ring cairn with a diameter of 98 ft (30 metres). In places the stones are piled almost 4 ft high (1.2 metres). The site is Neolithic or Bronze Age.
The granite outcrop is similar in appearance to the Cheesewring, at Minions.
