Colorful half-timbered towns, castles, fortresses, historical buildings of the Weser renaissance line the Weser cycle path, as well as the origins of well-known travel companions such as the Pied Piper of Hameln, Cinderella and the Baron von Münchhausen. The 15 stages of the 310-mile-long (500 kilometers) Weser Cycle Path lead through some very different tourist regions and are therefore a proverbial treasure trove of diversity and culture.

The route begins at its confluence in Hann. Münden, where you can read this poem on a stone for more than 100 years: "Where Werra and Fulda kiss, they must atone for their names, and here, through this kiss, German as far as the sea, the Weser River arises." - Hann. Münden, 31 July 1899

Further north, the Weser Cycle Path opens up the area of the Central Weser and the North German Plain with its numerous wind and water mills, many of which provide an insight into the culture of the region. The region of the Lower Weser begins with Bremen. Sights such as the UNESCO World Heritage City Hall with Roland statue, the picturesque old town of Bremen and the cycle path along Lake Werdersee are full of culture and idyll. In the north, Bremerhaven and the Cuxland give a deep insight into the maritime past as well as the culture of seafaring before the wide and beautiful North Sea opens up to you.

In this Collection, we have compiled the 15 stages of the Weser Cycle Path for you to view on the map and download as GPX. Along the entire course of the Weser Cycle Path there is a large selection of accommodation such as hotels, bike-friendly guesthouses, youth hostels or camping sites. Arrival and departure is also uncomplicated. All stages can be reached by public transport. The Weser Cycle Path is recommended in the brochure "Deutschland per Rad entdecken" by the ADFC (German Cyclist's Association) and is ranked as a quality cycle route with four stars.
