Geoffrey Darrow studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. When he was 24 years old, he started working as an animator for the Hanna-Barbera studios. For six years, he cooperated on television series like 'Scooby Doo', 'Richie Rich', 'Superman', 'Batman' and 'The Smurfs'. In 1982, he met Moebius during the making of the film 'Tron'. Moebius was so impressed with Darrow's work that he asked him to illustrate 'Internal Transfer'. Two years later, Darrow moved to Paris, where he cooperated with Moebius again on the portfolio 'La Cité Feu'.
'Hard Boiled'.
While also working on some side projects, he created his first actual comic character, 'Bourbon Thret', in 1986, of which one album appeared at Comics and Stories. Darrow returned to the States, but kept working for European publishers and magazines. In 1990, he teamed up with Frank Miller to create 'Hard Boiled' at Dark Horse Comics, followed by 'Big Guy and Rusty the Robot' five years later. 'Big Guy' was made into an animated cartoon series and line of toys.

For the same publisher, Darrow also illustrated 'Another Chance to Get it Right' by writer/criminologist Andrew Wachss. In 2004, he created 'Shaolin Cowboy'. In the cinema field, Darrow has cooperated on the artistic conception of 'The Matrix' trilogy by Andy and Larry Wachowski (2001-2004). He also worked with the Wachowski brothers on the film 'Speed Racer' and the comic book series 'Doc Frankenstein' (2004) and 'Shaolin Cowboy' (2005). His art has also appeared on several trading cards.
