Refresher Courses
Lektor offers online refresher courses for Practical Instructors and Assessors.
These courses are also available in the traditional classroom format upon request in our offices in Helsinki.
Practical Instructor (OJTI and STDI) Refresher Course
Lektor Practical Instructor Refresher course is designed for experienced ATC instructors in terms to prevent their knowledge and skills erosion and to reinforce the motivation and instructional techniques required in their work as an instructor. The course structure covers objectives applicable to OJTI as well as STDI training.
Prerequisites
The Lektor Practical Instructor Refresher course participant shall have completed a full OJTI / STDI course as an ATCO, or in other role within Air Traffic Service domain.
Objectives of the course
After successful completion of the Lektor Practical Instructor Refresher course a participant shall fulfil the requirements of regulation (EU) 2015/340 in order to apply for the OJTI or STDI endorsement to their ATCO licence. This includes
application of current coaching and instructional techniques,
appreciation of the safety related impact of instructor ́s role,
understanding and skills of the objectives detailed in the syllabus part of this Training Plan
Duration of the course
The Lektor Practical Instructor Refresher Course is designed to take up to 4 days depending on the training needs and size of the audience, as well as the training methodology used on the course.
Assessor Refresher Course
The course aims to refresh the necessary skills regarding assessing competence of students and / or valid professionals in operational environments and situations. It also aims to impart an understanding of current European controller competence regulations and of the principles of assessing competence, as well as enhance the appreciation for the positive impact competence assessment can have individually as well as on the unit.
Prerequisites
The Lektor Competence Assessor Training Course is designed for controllers who have previously completed an assessor course, or equivalent.
Objectives of the course
After successfully completing the Lektor Competence Refresher Assessor course, the participant shall:
be able to analyse the assessor role
apply appropriate assessment techniques
comprehensively understand the roles and responsibilities of the competence assessor.
Duration of the course
The Lektor Competency Assessor Refresher Training Course is designed to take maximum 2 days depending on the training needs and size of the audience, as well as the training methodology used on the course.
