A new study in Molecular Psychiatry examined the epigenetic effects of cannabis use over 20 years. Their results found that the most significantly affected areas of the genome have previously been associated with: - General cognitive function - Bipolar disorder - Schizophrenia - Autism - Rheumatoid arthritis Here's a good article recap: https://lnkd.in/gHyw6H2W The paper itself is currently open-access, so feel free to download a copy: https://lnkd.in/gKXQgCS5 #science #cannabis #epigenetics

Aaron Weiner, PhD, ABPP thanks for posting. Very concerning findings. Couple this with growing up socioeconomically disadvantaged and exposure to ACES (adverse childhood experiences), which also have both been shown to induce epigenetic changes and you have a great perfect storm. Given that many of the socioeconomically disadvantaged are often BIPOC, it casts double on the argument of cannabis legislation as a hallmark of social justice when use can result In adverse effects that can possibly be passed on to future generations through these epigenetic changes.

More good evidence that marijuana use is not “harmless “ or just “medicinal”.

Important research. Dosage over time appears to be a significant factor.

It appears cumulative. I wonder what the impact of significantly more potent cannabis has on epigenetic factors.

“It's important to note that this study doesn't prove that cannabis directly causes these changes or causes health problems”. Hmmmm… so they said all that to say this, they didn’t prove causation just maybe coorelation so basically at this point it’s an unproven theory (speculation) that needs further study. Just like the nightly news when a catastrophic event takes place. Just tell us it took place and come back when you KNOW something rather than gather all the talking heads and speculate about what went wrong for hours Ad nauseam. Sheesh

More Big Pharma Influenced Propaganda. Cannabis when grown organically (without BioSludge, Monsanto products,... radiated... ie. State weed) is the healthier alternative to the addictive Brain numbing and Body damaging Big Pharma drugs offered by American Medical Association drug dealers today. If you want to stay healthy...just say NO...to Big Pharma and their paid actors. "Cannabis is Medicine"

Aaron Weiner, PhD, ABPP interesting study and data. Thank you for sharing. There’re data also from animal studies so far about Epigenetic changes in sperm, especially in neurodevelopmental genes, which is concerning. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-020-72783-0

All of this is fairly obvious and has been known for years, both scientifically and anecdotally. But the 'recreational' and 'medicinal' lobby is well-funded and has fooled many. And there are those who are deliberately trying to hurt others.
