One of the profound highlights within the multitude of DaVinci events is the pre-graduation ceremony, the President's Dinner. It is the occasion when our esteemed President, Edward Kieswetter, hosts the doctoral candidates in an exclusive dinner, reiterating their role as global contributors and industry experts. These moments, aside from their deeply stirring emotions, foster profound connections among the doctoral candidates, reinforcing their sense of belonging in the realm of learning and development. This transforms the event into a grandiose celebration, underscoring the significance of community in both education and business leadership. During the recent President's Dinner, we were once again reminded of these ideals; as the doctoral candidates mingled with their peers, there was a palpable sense that the world requires more individuals like them, and that their journey has only just commenced. Starting a new role by asking great questions Recently I started a new role as the Executive Director of Arrow Leadership Australia. Managing a team spread across the country, with excellent program directors like Cath Tallack and Kylie Butler, in an organisation with a storied history and an exceptional list of past executive directors, staff, board members, and alumni.  You could imagine just how daunting that might be. That is unless you know 2 things... First – everyone connected with Arrow love it so much that they want Arrow and you to succeed and will do whatever they can to help.   Second – that if you ask those people the right questions, they provide exceptional insights. As I have been meeting with Arrow community, I have been asking them. 1. What was your best Arrow moment? 2. As incoming ED what do you want me to know? 3. As incoming ED what do you want me to learn? 4. As incoming ED what do you want me to do? 5. If you were appointed as ED what would your immediate priorities be? So far, I have surveyed all team members along with several stakeholders representing board members, previous executive directors, donors, and alumni. I have just finished reviewing the trends, developing the recommendations and limitations from the first of those questions. It has outlined some helpful focus points for developing what makes Arrow so impactful further. I am looking forward to sharing the insights with the Board and the team.
