My first week as the Leading Regulatory Advisor in Gasgrid Finland is behind, and I’m starting to understand why these folks have been breaking records in nearly every project they have embarked on (think, for example, starting a whole new LNG terminal business in only 8 months to secure the security of gas supply after Russian invasion of Ukraine, or including three cross-border hydrogen infrastructure projects into the EU’s infrastructure priority list). The work here is in full swing! 👍 Gasgrid Finland is the Finnish gas transmission system operator which is responsible for the gas transmission network in Finland (like Fingrid in the electricity sector). The state-owned company is ambitiously developing the gas transmission platform to promote the transition to carbon-neutral society. One of the major goals in this respect is the development of national and cross-border hydrogen transmission infrastructure (pipeline network) that would enable the creation of hydrogen economy, which is in turn is key in the shift away from fossil fuels. It goes without saying that I couldn’t be happier to join Team Gasgrid and from now on dedicate all my professional energy to work towards these common goals!
