The Doon School is a selective all-boys private boarding school in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India, which was established in 1935. It was envisioned by Satish Ranjan Das, a lawyer from Calcutta, as a school modelled on the British public school while remaining conscious of Indian ambitions and desires.

This was the first article that I published back in 2020 about my experience visiting Barmer, India. Barmer is a drought prone area in Rajasthan, India. Before visiting this place, I used to wonder, "How do teachers survive and keep their motivations high while teaching in such a challenging context?" I remember, while visiting one of the schools, I asked a teacher how their experience has been in Barmer and they replied saying, "I am living in a prison which I can't escape." What I feel is one of the greatest teachings of Baba Saheb is that you don't need to have an inspiration for your aspirations. Speaking from my experience, National Law Universities, though are trying at a level have not been able to eliminate different kinds of discrimination. Caste discrimination has manifested in ways like "class discrimination", where you assume a superior position due your belief that you have a certain class which comes from the accumulated generational wealth. Privilege is not just restricted to caste but it also includes, the connections, the friendships you develop due to these connections leading to your career progression and the inherent confidence due to the upbringing of assuming inherent superiority. So, to truly honour the legacy of Baba Saheb, it would require us to not only remove the conscious but also the subconscious barriers of discrimination.
