LEADING CHANGE ANTHROPOCENTRICALLY - Increasing Performance under Continuous Disruptions

Following the economic & pandemic crises, the directive is not only to survive or maintain performance but to increase performance. Not only for recovering the lost space (revenue etc) but it has now become fast clearer than ever, that change is indeed the new norm and enters our lives at an ever-accelerated pace.

New rules, new technology, new conditions, and new generations together with rapid change constitute the new environment in which we are asked to flourish. We can no longer Manage Change, we now are called to Lead Change. New types of working including remote working, resulted in new ways of working like the ‘Gig economy” (short-term contracts or freelance work as opposed to permanent jobs). Gig economy workers now work for even more traditional companies, which have changed rapidly how their staffing system operates. Working in the gig economy also means constantly being subjected to last-minute scheduling. Undoubtedly, we need new labor laws. The increase of workers in many areas from writing code to the delivery/currier drivers has been phenomenal. Many industries cry out not only for skilled labor but for standard workers as well. Yet unemployment rises in most countries. However, life has a very powerful way to always correct damaging situations and propels evolution faster into the future. The mandate is now to learn “how to INCREASE PERFORMANCE, UNDER CONTINUOUS DISRUPTIONS”.

PEOPLE have always been the driving force for recovery, failure, success, medium, low, or excellent results. For the foreseeable future, it is humans that will also drive the new technology, write AI algorithms, incorporate (or not) ethics into AI, increase performance, and many more.

In situations that wars used to be a forceful answer in history, we now embrace ‘Diversity & Inclusion". Corporate Social Responsibility is now becoming the norm. Companies now need to (soon will ‘have to’) positively influence, environmental, social, and economic development through new governance ethical practices and market presence. Sustainability has become an integral part of strategic management and corporate planning. And of course, in doing all that, it is the human being that is in the center of every development, as part of its continued evolution.

We all thought that moving from ‘equally’ to ‘equitably’ was fair enough, only to realize that the future will be better if we removed all barriers and embrace change and diversity. (see Deloitte’s illustration below).

Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace and society, in general, is of course another issue that will be implemented by the … ‘human being’ (Anthropos). Yet, most companies around the world still broadcast and take pride in their work culture as being ‘Customer Centric’. Only to realize that this communicates to the customer the ‘sucking up’, the ‘pretentious customer service’, so that they can have the customer’s money! Rightly so say some! Wrong, say some others! The manager, the worker, any employee, and the customer are also human beings. The time has come that more and more companies and the society at large, have realized, that it is the Anthropocentric Culture (Human-Centered) that we must all embrace to face the continuous disruption and Increase Performance.

For many years, traveling on 4 continents and many different countries, explaining the Anthropocentric approach to all working aspects, has been my life’s mission. Various cultures, companies, societies, countries have of course different needs, as each one progresses at a different speed. Under various titles, seminars, workshops, and keynote speeches, the explanation of the benefits of the Anthropocentric working practices always prevails.

In Paphos Cyprus, I will be training about ‘Bringing your authentic self to work: Embracing Diversity & Inclusion in the workplace. In Athens, I will be “Empowering Millennials to thrive” by explaining all the Anthropocentric Leadership & Management practices. I will also be explaining that the new term LEADERMENT is the combination of Leadership & Management. Although both are distinct and different, they need to be combined for greater results in our times and the foreseeable future.

In Istanbul Turkey, in front of a large audience of professional management trainers, the new training methods and techniques will be presented. New generations and new technology have changed the map of professional training. All professionals are welcomed to the conference. Organized by IUPT (www.iupt.org.uk) you can reserve a place here.

In Tehran Iran, two different keynote speeches will trace the future. “Creating the wow effect in customer experience for the new generations” & “How to excel in leading marketing & sales teams remotely”. Organized by Hamayesh Farzan (www.hamayeshfarazan.org/), you are of course all welcomed.

The last stop for this year will be Dubai in UAE. The title of my keynote speech will be: “How Millennials influence successful developments via Green Environmental & Sustainable Business Practices” (You are most welcomed to registered here: https://www.dubainternationalsuperyachtsummit.com/)

If you want to know more about any of these conferences/seminars/speeches, or if you want to plan your own in 2022, you may contact me here: JMK.

Let's never forget: we can only advance as human species if we help, accept, respect, and learn from each other continuously.
