Live exuberantly and grow your business

Live exuberantly and grow your business

Paris is one of my favourite places in the world and the French people have always been kind and friendly.

I love this little piece of French … Joie De Vivre!

Translated into English, it is … Exuberant Enjoyment of Life.

This is not just the enjoyment of life, but the exuberant enjoyment of life. It is a great way to describe it.

Here are two questions to ponder:

1.    What does exuberant enjoyment mean to you personally?

2.    More importantly, what do you need to do to have more days filled with exuberant enjoyment?

Here’s the hint … you have to pursue your passion.

Follow your heart. Make a difference to the people who mean the world to you.

Now consider this concept of living exuberantly in relation to your business.

If you want your business to flourish and grow and yet you are struggling to make that happen or are struggling to enjoy your work and life (or to achieve that elusive work/life balance) then ask yourself these questions:

1.    What inspired you or drove you to start or run this business?  Does that drive still exist? Are you passionate about your business? If you are no longer passionate about your business, then something needs to change whether it is your attitude, the way you run your business or even the business you are in. Or perhaps you simply need a holiday to recharge your batteries? Paris? Or your favourite beach?

2.    What parts of your business are you most passionate about and would like to spend more time pursuing? And what do you need to do to spend more time pursuing what you are most passionate about? Perhaps you could hire an assistant or office manager or simply outsource specific tasks, for example, admin tasks to a virtual administrator/secretary; social media tasks; writing and editing; website administration; bookkeeping etc. Maybe you could consider a restructure of your business or taking on a business partner?

Follow your passion. Enjoy your work. Make a difference to the lives of your customers. Have a sense of making progress. Do the work that matters to you. Build the sort of business that you want to run.
