Over It?

Over It?

Make It Simple.

Overthinking, over-worrying, overcomplicating, overdoing, overworking, overcompensating, over-pushing...

SO OVER IT!

How often are we consecrating "over-ness" in our lives? ("The action of making or declaring something sacred.")

How often do we disdain the simple and glorify the grandiose?

What if we could - more often than not -Make it simple.

Yes, there are times for the proverbial "push".

The finish line press.

The senior year squeeze.

The final project flurry.

The end of birth bear down.

And yet, life was not meant to be lived in this constant state of heightened drive. We are not here to be in a season or state of continuous over pushing, running, striving, pressure, and hustle.

How often is this "over-ness" a symptom of trauma, fear, societal dogma, and unworthiness?

How often are we listening to messages that have us believing that the only way to find success - to be a success - is to exert ourselves through driving force and ambition? Exert your influence, be an "expert", push through, maintain your drive, persevere...

These things are not all bad, but neither are they meant to be all the time

To persevere all the time is a bit, well, severe!

Let's remember to go gentle on ourselves. Let's practice the art of uncomplicating things. Let's glorify the simple things, the gentle things, the small miracles unfolding around us on a daily basis.

"Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated." -Confucius

"My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness." -The Dalai Lama

Often to find the simplicity in a thing is to find the Divine. To allow space, rest, ease, and grace, these are often the kindest things we can do for ourselves and for others.

"Kindness starts within." -Cornelius Christopher

In finding and making things more simple, we allow the unfolding of possibilities that stretch beyond struggle, worry, strong-arming, and force. We come into a more focused understanding of the Divine intelligence that is thread throughout our experiences and our lives.

How do you make room for the simple in your life?

Meditation, prayer, breathwork, walking in nature, dance, laughter, a good meal, a cup of tea...

All of these can help us come back to the center of simplicity that is the essence of our Knowing. Even building muscle takes a certain amount of down-time, recovery, and simple rest in between the "breakdown".

This space is the space of "rebuilding". The growth underneath the proverbial soil.

Ockham's Razor, a problem-solving principle argues that simplicity is better than complexity. Named after 14th-century logician and theologian William of Ockham, his theory has been effective and viable for many great thinkers over the centuries.

"All things being equalsimpler explanations are generally better than more complex ones." - William of Ockham, Ockham's Razor.

Put simply: “the simplest solution is almost always the best.”

Allow yourself to trust the process of simplicity.
