Deepest Point - 1903 April.
In April, Sir John Murray's "Bathymetrical Survey of the Scottish Lochs"
takes 1700 depth soundings in Loch Ness. They establish the loch to have the greatest
volume of any lake in Britain and that its maximum depth is 754ft (230m). Claims
for greater depths will be made later but all remain unconfirmed; most resulting
from sonar anomalies
