Situated overlooking Cardigan Bay to the west, and near the old main road from Harlech to Dolgellau, through the Bwlch y Rhiwgyr, the location affords a wondrous panorama. The ring appears be sited so as to give an impression of being on a ridge. Comparisons with Bryn Cader Faner, which is to the north on another good long, walk, are easy to make.

We came across this circle unexpectedly last week after visiting the nearby cairns - a wonderful spot. I have to admit to disappointment when I logged on to post some pictures, as I hadn't realised ST (& Makka Pakka) had been there already quite recently!

It seemed to me that a likely cause of the outward-sloping stones might be the way the animals had undermined them. This would presumably have this effect over the centuries? I will try and see if any of my pictures demonstrate what I mean.
