Item Description

Barrerite is a very rare Zeolite Group species, only named in 1974 from a locality in Sardinia, Italy! This very fine and showy triangular plate is covered with pearlescent, spearpoint-like blades to 3.2 cm and is essentially pristine. This lovely piece from Alaska displays well from all three sides. Ex Joan Massague Collection and purchased from Jordi Fabre in 2000 when a surprising find of the best of species crystals came from, Alaska of all places! I am told this was only accessible at low tide, and they had to be collected rather quickly when found
