Visiting Woodland to See the Almond Blossoms

FullSizeRender.jpg

We woke up before six to drive down to Woodland and see the almond blossoms. We’d seen some pictures posted here and figured we go see for ourselves too. Under the morning light, we had lots of lighting variation. Under the blossoming orchards, it looked like snow.

We wandered by a few different orchards, all fairly evenly spaced apart. The first orchard we went to had an incredible amount of blooms. The others were younger trees, but also beautiful with the sunlight streaming through and patches of green grass in between.

We came a little later to the blossom season, but were excited to still see so many blooms. We’ll try to come early March next year! Until this year though, I never knew almond trees bloomed similarly to cherry blossoms.

We had our usual fun taking photos of each other. It was so beautiful here, I don’t think we stopped shooting until 9am or so and then headed to the bagel shop for some breakfast.

Hope we’ll have a chance to see this again next year! With spring on the way, several flowers will be blooming soon.
