A heavility tattooed grandma has taken to social media to share a throwback picture of what she looked like nine years ago - before she underwent a huge transformation by splashing out £25,000 on tattoos.

Kerstin Tristan, 56, started her extreme ink journey in her 40s, and is now covered in colourful designs, including flowers, butterflies and leopard print. The gran's whole body is covered in artwork, and she regularly poses for snaps where she shows off the intricate designs.

Recently Kerstin let her followers see what she looked like before going under the needle - and she looked dramatically different. The side-by-side photos, one taken on November 5 2014, and another taken November 5 2023, showed a fresh-faced Kerstin.

Kerstin, from Germany, can be seen smiling at the camera with no visible tattoos, and dressed in a more demure style, the Daily Star reports. Nine years later, the tattooed gran can be seen with ink covering her arms, torso and neck, as well as her forehead. She also has several piercings, including in her nose and ears.

Kerstin, who now has a more vibrant style, also enjoys wearing more bold makeup, fluttery eyelashes and has a pink streak in her hair. Her followers were amazed by the transformation, with one person saying: "You are transformed by your tattoos to a different level of beauty. Fabulous. Obviously your tattooed transformation is the best version of you."

Another said: "You look more beautiful by the hour." And a third wrote: "Gorgeous! Love the tattoos." Kerstin got her first inking a decade ago, when she felt self-conscious in her skin. The mature model quickly got hooked on ink and has since forked out £25,000 on her body art collection that covers her from head to toe.

She now feels a lot more confident in her skin, telling Hooked on the Look: "When I look at myself in the mirror, I see a beautiful meadow full of flowers that one has to love."
