Features

The Xperia neo V was launched to coincide with Sony Ericsson offering the Gingerbread version of the Android operating system. This allowed the company to add several new features such as Google Talk with video chat, and “enhanced Facebook inside Xperia functionality”. The five-megapixel camera, which had a 16x digital zoom, introduced “3D sweep panorama technology”. This allowed images to be captured on the phone and then viewed in 3D by connecting the phone to a compatible 3D TV using the HDMI output. The 3.7-inch 16,777,216 colour TFT capacitive touchscreen supported Sony’s “Reality Display with Mobile Bravia Engine”. Other notable features were a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a font-facing VGA camera, HD video recording (720p), image stabilisation, 3D games, an FM radio with RDS, It was also possible for the Neo V to be enabled as “a mini-mobile PC” by connecting USB peripherals such as a mouse, keyboard or game controller via the Sony Ericsson “LiveDock multimedia station”. The phone could also be connected to a TV via HDMI to get a big-screen experience. The phone was available in four colour variants: white, blue gradient and silver.
