GAS NATURAL FENOSA has launched NEDGIA, the new brand for all of its gas distribution activity in Spain, and initiates a new phase focused on the growth and transformation of its activity, with the aim of bringing well-being to of 10.7 million users (through over 5.3 million supply points throughout the country).

NEDGIA brings together two fundamental concepts for the company: the innovation that comes hand in hand with the experience and solvency gained from being a part of the energy group GAS NATURAL FENOSA, and the fact that it has been developing the expansion of natural gas throughout Spain over the last 25 years.

Following the launch of the new brand, the different companies which distribute gas will keep the regional and historic names of the areas in which they operate and will be called: Nedgia Andalucía, Nedgia Aragón, Nedgia Balears, Nedgia Castilla-La Mancha, Nedgia Castilla y León, Nedgia Catalunya, Nedgia Cegas, Nedgia Galicia, Nedgia Madrid, Nedgia Navarra and Nedgia Rioja.

The new brand NEDGIA reflects the roots and history of the company, but also focuses on a future which must respond to new energy challenges such as vehicular natural gas and renewable gas, aiming towards improved air quality and energy innovation.

In addition to the brand, the group’s holding company as well as the different gas distribution companies will bear a new name, whilst continuing to distribute gas in the same conditions in terms of quality, commitment to service and security standards that have defined and differentiated the company since the start.

Additionally, the brand change coincides with the entry of new members among the shareholders of the holding company of the energy group’s gas business, as GAS NATURAL FENOSA is about to complete the 20% sale operation agreed upon last year to a consortium of long-term investors in infrastructures formed by Allianz Capital Partners (ACP) and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB).

With the new brand, the group further commits to the separation of activities as set out in 2009/73/CE of 13 July 2009, concerning common rules for the internal natural gas market.
