Look Mum No Computer is an Insane hybrid of 1990’s ‘Get Stuffed’ meets Thomas Dolby, BigClive and Secret Life of Machines Tim Hunkin* but with a more musical (circuit) bent.
From the circuit bent electronic Wonder Wonder bible to the demented Furby Organ, lots of insane projects, but it’s his self-built modular synth that to me feels like what those who were part of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop would be doing today (or doing it all in the computer, but that’s kind of been done and is boring).
I found this via my last post where I joked about oki playing a 303 on a bike…turns out it’s been done – Synth Bike 2 (and the follow up, v3), and even more impressive the speed of the bike controls the synth tempo! Thanks to oki for the tip.
*also am I the only one getting Bruce Lacey vibes? Something about the manic punk use of technology…
