Although sitcoms with an all-Black cast have been on the air since the earliest days of network television, the genre rose to prominence in the '90s, paving the way for these hilarious TV shows. This list contains funny '00s Black sitcoms and heartwarming African American sitcoms that the whole family can enjoy.

Created by Larry Wilmore, the popular sitcom starred comedian Bernie Mac. It aired on Fox from 2001 – 2006. Another family-focused sitcom was My Wife and Kids, created by Don Reo and Damon Wayans, who also starred as the lead in the show. Other great Black sitcoms of the 2000s include Everybody Hates Chris, Girlfriends, and That's So Raven.
