Description

This came originally from the late Vladimir Vasak (as Tulipa orientalis var urumoffii) which Vladimir found in Bulgaria, distr. Pernik, Konjavska Planina, at 600-900m. It has been incredibly slow to increase here.

These are increased from the original plants and bear flowers with broad overlapping petals and intense bright yellow colouring. There is a trace of black in a few plants of this stock  but the anthers are almost always, and mostly, golden yellow. There are some very limited red colourings confined to the external tips of the outer three petals, perhaps running down the petals on the outside though this is only really visible with age.  It is notable that bulbs raised from closed-pollinated seed of this strain, strangely, can include shades of reds and pinks in some plants.

Genuine propagated material of a rare European plant happy in full sun in fertile soil with good drainage.
