Pentidotea resecata (Stimpson, 1857)
Pentidotea resecata can be found on eelgrass (Zostera sp.), sometimes this Isopod is also found on the kelp Macrocystis.Living on the eelgras, the body colour is green, living on the kelp the body colour is mor brown than green.
This Eelgrass isopod feeds on the kelp or eelgrass that it lives on. Pentidotea resecata can also swim well using its pleopods.
A temperature of 15 degress Celsius is an optimum temperature for P. resecata ( temperatures reach between 29 and 31 degrees Celsius, the animal will die).
