The offspring of Cladiella australis are possible. Unfortunately, the number of offspring is not large enough to cover the demand of the trade. If you are interested in Cladiella australis, please ask your dealer for offspring. If you already own Cladiella australis, try breeding yourself. This will help to improve the availability of offspring in the trade and to conserve natural stocks.

Die Weichkoralle Cladiella australis kommt wahrscheinlich nicht oder nur sehr selten in unseren Riffaquarien vor, gezielte Importe oder Haltungserfahrungen sind uns derzeit nicht bekannt, obwohl dies durchaus gut möglich sein sollte.
Bei voll expandierten Polypen erscheint die Koralle bräunlich, wir das Tier durch Berührungen gestört und zieht die Polypen ein, so wirkt die Koralle weißlich.

In der Wissenschaft erfahren Weichkorallen allerdings ein stark steigendes Interesse, da sich aus Weichkorallen wie Clavularia, Klyxum, Sinularia, Sarcophyton Extrakte extrahieren lasen, die im Bereich der Humanmedizin zur Krebstherapie angewendet werden.

Cladiella australis kommt nicht, wie vielleicht vermutet, in Australien vor, der Artname "australis" steht für "südlich".
