Heptacarpus palpator (Owen, 1839)
Heptacarpus is a genus of shrimps in the family Thoridae. There are more than 30 described species in Heptacarpus.
Heplacarpus palpator often is found on wharf piles, among algae, and in tide pools at lower tide levels and in shallow subtidal areas. The deepest record is 37 m (Santa Monica Bay, California). The colour is variable in life, from translucent with brown lines to a uniform deep brown.
Very similat to Heptacarpus brevirostris.
