Info

Lobophytum ransoni does not enter the marine specialty trade.

Although the soft coral is the subject of many scientific investigations and descriptions, information about size, water depth and color of the living coral seems to be not or only sparsely documented.

The first description was based on a dried coral with the dimensions 22 x 15cm, the color of the dried coral was described as gray-green.

Etymology. The name is a patronym in honor of the collector of the holotype, B. Ranson.

We would appreciate any additional details about the soft coral that may have been captured through dives by our users.
