Dardanus tinctor is widespread throughout the tropical waters of the Indo-West Pacific region and the Red Sea.This hermit crab reaches a length of 10 centimetres. Typical character of the Dardanus tinctor is carrying his anemones whereever he goes.This hermit crab feeds on small benthic invertebrates and carrion.
